Besides, the government is going to set up worlds largest solar power plant at Sambhar Lake City having a total generation capacity of 4,000 MW. According to Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, the first phase of the project- having 1,000 MW capacity is likely to be commissioned by the end of 2016. The 4,000 MW of the solar plant is expected to supply 6,400 million units of energy per year and consequently help to reduce CO2.
