It is an ancient fort with name Akhegarh Fort in Jhunjhunu Rajasthan. It was built by Thakur Akhey Singh during his tenure. Thakur Akhay singh was born in 1713 to the third wife of Thakur Shardul Singh. Thakur Shardul Singh had won Jhunjhunu by defeating Rohilla Khan "Raseela", the last Nawab of Jhunjhunu in 1730.
The property is a 8500 sq yard (approx 1.75 acres) land surrounded by a 25ft-30ft high boundary wall having a 7ft wide walking area. It has a partially maintained area (where my family is presently residing) along with a huge covered common hall, capable of accommodating 500 people, which can be used for organizing events. Apart from this there is a old building (not maintained) where the queens of Thakur Akhay Singh used to reside during olden times. The property is located in the heart of the city in close proximity to all major local attractions.
